Challenge & Solution
Goodnotes* users have shown strong demand for better visual creation tools within their notes. To make note-taking more engaging across different scenarios, we proactively developed new features that enable users to easily create editable images and illustrations directly in their notes.
My Role
Product Designer (Project Lead): I led end-to-end design for this generative AI features across art direction, prototyping, interaction design, model selection, prompt evaluation with adoption rate growth 14x in 5 months.
Impact
The feature’s adoption rate grew 14× in five months.

^ We refined the prompts so the generated images align with the brand’s shapes and colors.
^ Users can provide additional prompts to refine the details of the generated images.
^ We explored more than 50 styles to support the key use cases for Goodnotes users.
^ We defined final 7 styles to serve the most common scenarios of note-taking in Goodnotes.
^ I worked closely with the AI engineers and legal team to design system responses for inappropriate user prompts.
